What are my rights in custody?

If one is arrested, in addition to having an attorney present for any and all questioning, you also have the right to call or contact a responsible person to notify them o the arrest. You also have the right to refuse any kind of physical or chemical test being requested until you have spoken to legal counsel, you have the right to see a Judge or Magistrate who should set reasonable bail or bond to secure your release (this depends upon a variety of factors), and to be brought before a court of law as soon as possible for a preliminary hearing (if one is requested, often it is waived).
