Am I required to stop?

ABSOLUTELY!

If a police officer signals for you to pull over in your car, THEN PULL OVER! Failure to stop is a huge mistake, and will only compound matters. At the very least you can be charged with a misdemeanor offense of “Fleeing from the Police” – but what’s more likely, the Felony criminal offense of Evading Arrest.

Once a police officer turns his sirens on, pull over as soon as possible in a safe place. If the police officer has to follow you at a high rate of speed, you will no doubt be charged with the Felony offense of “Evading Arrest.”
